Caley’s of Norwich, a British producer of fine chocolate products since 1883, have launched a new range of chocolate products in support of Help for Heroes, a registered charity who offer support for our wounded service men and women.

The new hot chocolate drink will see will see 10p from every jar go directly to the charity founded by Bryn and Emma Parry just over a year ago, whilst each chocolate bar will prompt a 5p donation.

Caley’s, a family-run firm with offices and factories in Norwich and Hampshire, have a long history of supporting the British Forces, going back to World War I when their chocolate formed a part of every soldiers ration pack. In more recent times, Melinda Messenger took Caley’s famous Marching Chocolate out to the troops serving in Bosnia.

‘The decision to support Help for Heroes was an easy one for Caley’s. We hope that our chocolate can give a lift to our forces both at home and abroad. By working with Help for Heroes we are aiming to take that to the next level – the work they are doing for our wounded is fantastic.’ – Ken Cunningham-Brown, Chairman of Caley’s.

Having raised over £12m pounds in their first year, Help for Heroes have already allocated nearly £10 million to support the wounded.
‘Soon, these service men and women will have their own pool and gym complex, will go on adaptive adventure training trips as part of their rehabilitation, get job opportunities and gain assistance with the stress caused by combat. As money comes in, we will take advice from the Services and other charities, the people who know, and we will get it out to where it is most needed.’ – Bryn Parry, Co Founder and Chief Executive of Help for Heroes.

And it’s not just the British forces that the product will be helping. This year Caley’s converted it’s entire range of chocolate bars and drinks to use Fairtrade ingredients wherever possible. Heroes Hot Chocolate will be no exception, carrying the Fairtrade logo and ensuring better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world.
